The Scenarios page in FUTRLI – your first step to building a forecast or budget

Within this guide we’re going to walk through the basic interface within the Scenarios section. When first navigating to the Scenarios section you’ll find yourself greeted by a list of the Organisations which you have synced with your account. If you have no Organisations synced, then your Organisation list will be blank and you’ll need to add an Organisation first before you’ll be able to start forecasting.

About

Within this guide we’re going to walk through the basic interface within the Scenarios section. When first navigating to the Scenarios section, you’ll find yourself greeted by a list of the Organisations which you have synced with your account. If you have no Organisations synced, then your Organisation list will be blank and you’ll need to add an Organisation first before you’ll be able to start forecasting.

Overview

You’ll find each Organisation listed alphabetically from A to Z by Company name. To the right, you’ll find the Organisation’s Year end and default Currency listed. For Xero and Quickbooks organisations this will be being sourced from the settings entered in either package. Changing the settings in Xero or Quickbooks for the Organisation will cause them to be updated within FUTRLI after the Organisation’s next sync. Manual Organisation’s will have their Year end and Currency dictated by what was entered when the Organisation was created in FUTRLI. These values can be edited at anytime within the Organisations section of FUTRLI:

To the right of your default Currency, you’ll find listed the number of Scenarios which have been created for the Organisation. Provided this number is larger than zero, a dropdown arrow will display adjacent to this. Clicking this will cause the Scenarios themselves to become exposed:

Whilst exposed, the Scenario can be opened by clicking the Scenario’s name or the arrow on the far right, adjacent to the Scenario. To the left of this arrow you’ll find three little dots. These are the action dots. Whenever you see them within FUTRLI that indicates that further selections are available. Clicking the three little dots will expose the options to Quick copy or Delete the Scenario:

To the right of the Scenarios list, you’ll find two buttons. One entitled Settings and one entitled New. Clicking the latter will allow you to create a new Scenario for the Organisation. Before a Scenario can be created you’ll first need to enter Settings information for the Organisation, so that FUTRLI can perform the necessary automatic calculations for you. Simply click the Settings button to enter or edit the Organisation’s Settings. These can be changed at anytime and your created Scenarios will update accordingly when a change is made.
